Group Photoshoot...

Here are a few images taken from our group photoshoot. On the day of our shoots we actually ended up having to improvise and change the location due to severe rain!! These shots are taken in Laurens old house, which was near our original location. We had to change the initial concept of our shoot, but i feel the images turned out reasonably well considering. I've uploaded a few of my favourite which i think are particularly strong.

Inspiration....

Tim Walker - ''Tim Walker is the master of fairytale photography, his amazing ability to transform beautiful modern girls into ethereal fantasy princesses from another time and place is unforgettable, and addictive to look at. ''

The shoot is one of my favourites of Tim Walkers, probably one of his most famous peices of work, which features supermodel Lily Cole posed on a decaying ornate spiral staircase in an abandoned palace in India is featured in the book. Gorgeous.

America's next top model...

I found this shoot after researching fairytales, but actually remember watching this episode on TV. For the photo shoot, the models had to take a photo while falling and were posed as a character from a popular fairytale. The models had to contest with keeping a pose and facial expression while in motion. Here are a few examples of the shoot.

Group Project...

After choosing our groups for the class assignment, it is made up of two photographers and two stylists. We discussed ideas we all liked and found common ground within everyones blog and the styles of work we were all inspired by. We came up with the concept of a fairytale, cinematic shoot, which would take place in the forest. The location we plan to shoot is in fairyglen woods in Wigan, Helen and Emma have booked out the lighting and photography equipment and we plan to set it up in fairyglen to help maximise thier shots! We choose to go for a very girly feminine look for our shoot, using floral garments with a vintage feel, also considering luxurious fabrics such as silks and chiffon which give that draping glamourous femininity. To give the shoot a bit of an edge we are going to style the model with lace up ankle boots for a grunge feel, we also have a black fur coat which she mite wear in a few shots. Jewellery such as pearls will be used to accessorize and flowers may be used as props for the model.

I researched into previous shots which have taken a similar concept to ours to see what kind of final images they came up with. I came across this article in which celebrities have dressed up and been styled to look like fairytale characters. Dakota Fanning as Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, kiera Knightly as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, Drew Barrymore as Belle from Beauty and The Beast, Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella, Gisele Bundchen as Wendy from Peter Pan.
